Redmond, WA, April 20th, 2004 - TPI Software, LLC, the
developer of TPI Payment Server and a leading provider of innovative payment
processing solutions for retail and online merchants, announces a new product -
TPI Payment Appliance. The TPI Payment Appliance is a new plug & play
embedded hardware solution that provides all the benefits of traditional
software with the ease-of-use of traditional payment terminals. The TPI Payment
Appliance is a low cost, high performance in-store thin-server solution that
can be easily integrated with other line of business applications such as CRM,
accounting applications, PC cash registers (POS) systems as well as traditional
payment terminals.
TPI Software is widely certified with the major US payment processors to process
credit cards, pin-based debit cards, EBT, checks, ACH, gift/loyalty cards,
check image capture and signature capture and retrieval services. By providing
a certified middleware device, TPI enables business software applications as
well as new IP terminals and legacy terminals to instantly connect to multiple
payment processors. The TPI Payment Appliance reduces transaction times to 3-5
seconds by using the Internet as the low cost high speed communications method
to process transactions. This approach reduces costs by eliminating unnecessary
telephone lines for each terminal. Dial back-up is provided by auto failover to
a local ISP connection.
"Customers told us that traditional software solutions have enormous
benefits, yet they are too difficult to sell, install, maintain and support for
the average merchant level sales person and business owners. By providing our
solution, as a pre-configured Payment Appliance, we provide the best of both
worlds", says Andrew Chau, CTO of TPI Software.
The TPI Payment Appliance provides all the benefits of software with all the
advantages of hardware. It is a robust solution that scales to handle multiple
registers/lanes and provides a thin client browser based interface to retrieve
historical reports as well as signatures and electronic check images. Yet,
since the device is an embedded solution, a merchant simply plugs the device
into the network and can be processing payments immediately. The device is
built on new industry standards, like Web services, so it can be easily
integrated with other software applications with virtually any modern
programming language.
TPI Software will demonstrate the TPI Payment Appliance at the Electronic
Transaction Association (ETA) Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Las Vegas, NV
(booth 509), April 20-24.
